In my time in Tokyo this past year, I have stayed in an apartment in Shibuya. I've been lucky enough to enjoy this world -famous neighbourhood in a new light. Usually, it is remembered for it's busy station, Shibuya crossing, it's many Times Square-type buildings and shopping centers,...
In this magazine I wanted to show the calmer, more residential side of this neighbourhood.
This is an experimental photoshoot using textile, movement and sound as inspiration. I didn't have a plan when working on this, I let each step guide me to the next until I was satisfied.

Tokyo can sometimes feel quite overwhelming. After spending two months in the city, I found myself craving a change of scenery, a moment of tranquility amidst the chaos. So I spent a day in Saïtama. I stumbled upon a little town that specialises in the growing of Bonsai.
I wanted to try taking black and white photos. It was a challenge to document my trip without the use of colour.
This is a shoot I did for up and coming fashion brand "Lac Elton". The pictures were taken at night on a bridge in Shibuya, Tokyo. In this photoshoot, I wanted to embody the dark and gloomy ambiance of the brand. In parallel to the style of the brand, I wanted to shine a light on the underground life of Tokyo in working with a tattooed native model.
